About The Event
Polymorphism is defined as the same compound with different crystal structures. Different polymorphs have the same chemical properties but different physical properties. Among all different physical properties, solubility is one of the most important characteristics since it is going to affect bioavailability directly. Ill control of polymorphism can hugely impact the safety of the drug product as previously seen in several cases. In this webinar, our X-ray diffraction (XRD) domain knowledge expert will guide you through how to set up a decision criterion based on the ICH_Q6A decision tree; how to use XRD to quick screen different polymorphs; how to use XRD to perform routine polymorph identification; how to use XRD to quantify polymorphs etc. Moreover, identification and quantification of crystallinity will also be discussed in the webinar.
More Information
Who should attend?
Researchers interesting in API development, including polymorph selection. In addition, anyone currently utilizing XRD to development new APIs, if you are interested in using XRD to identify and quantify polymorph or if you have wondered why crystallinity is important in a SMD product.
What will you learn?
Why polymorph control, identification and quantification is important, how to use XRD to identify and quantify polymorph and finally, how to use XRD to quantify crystallinity.
Lab to Clinic Webinar Series
The development of successful pharmaceutical drugs is a long time-consuming and expensive process. Each stage of the development workflow has unique challenges and requirements, each with it’s own analytical and characterization needs.
In this 4-part webinar series, we will cover a range of topics within the pharmaceutical development process starting with candidate selection and screening for binding kinetics, moving on to screening and controlling for API polymorphs and finishing up with the development of nasal sprays, aerosols and inhalers for drug delivery.
Throughout this series, we will highlight how technical challenges can be overcome by utilizing the appropriate analytical tools.
